This is not news, it's the consequence of killing animals for 'fun'. Other lion males will kill the cubs all because some inadequate dentist thinks this makes him macho. People like him make me feel ashamed to be the same species. Unfortunately, he's one of many. It's only that this case has hit the media. Giraffes, rhinos, elephants, leopards .... etc wiil have been 'hunted'/killed by like-minded sickos since this occurred.

Humans don't belong on this planet anymore. We have proven ourselves time and again to be the biggest predator on the planet, with no redeeming qualities. We plunder the beauty of the natural world, exploit every last resource that is available. Take, Take, Take. Mine, Mine, Mine. We don't deserve to share space with the natural world. My heart broke when Cecil was murdered by that coward Walter Palmer, and now Jericho. Humans as a species deserve to die out. Only humans slaughter animals for "Sport." Heartachingly sad.

Palmer has not just killed 1 lion, he has in essence killed at least 7-8 lions by taking out the alpha in a pride. I am not an unconditional animal lover, let us understand the facts There were 200,000 lions in the 1800s, now there are less than 23000 lions left all over the world. If we keep this up, then a majestic animal like the lion will be lost to generations after us. Why does it give these people a sense of accomplishment to hunt down a lion? What is the risk in killing a lion even with a bow and arrow, with an entire paid crew standing by with guns? This was a canned hunt with no risk involved and I will never understand how anyone can be proud of it, or why anyone will pay a dime for it, any thrill they got out of it was but a delusion.

As much as I would like to blame Mr. Palmer and the rest of the wealth idiots that hunt animals. The sole blame rest with the Zimbabwe government and its people, why are they not protecting these animals? People are taking money and helping hunters to kill them. Something is not right here I think the vast majority of people don't know about this nor do they care. The government is probably in on it too for the money. Follow the money.
