The Prince of Wales, who is pictured with Ant and Dec at a Prince's Trust event earlier this year, wants William to take over as the head of the charity
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge appear to be focused on raising their young family, as well as the work of their own charitable foundation

Oh come off it. "Full time air ambulance pilot?" He has no problem taking all kinds of time off for holidays. They need to simply admit that his "job" is no more than PR and the cost of the security detail that he has with him on every flight negates anything his donated salary does for charity.

Prince William is lazy as is his wife (which is why they are so perfectly compatible). He does not want to take on any engagements. He wants money, perks and a quiet life. So please retire to Anmer Hall and do just that relinquishing any claim to the Crown.

Prince Harry is the ideal person to take over running his father's charity.

If William did over 200 events last year I must have slept through it. Absolutely no way did he do 200. What exactly were they counting???

So Bill and Kathy want a 'normal' life.... in the taxpayer funded palaces, with servants, drivers, people to dress them and holidays whenever they like. When the Queen is no longer around it's time to do away with all of this.

If Charles predeceases his mother (and anything is possible) William is going to be pretty much stuffed as he'll be on that throne carrying out duties quicker than he'd like. What will be do then? Become King and say he needs a further gap year or that he wants to take up a job in mountain rescue? Kate Middleton has the right idea though - keep having children until she is 45 which limits any possibility of having to do any work.

I mean no offense but there's nothing normal about William's life.

Like every other parent, Charles will only have certain influence with William. If William doesn't want to take on more royal responsibilities, there's little Charles can do about it. The Queen probably has more influence over William than his father does, but that's just my view.

Change it from the Prince's Trust to the Princes' Trust, and split the work between William and Harry.

If you want William to take over the Princes Trust move the headquarters to Mustique.

Im beginning to really dislike William after defending the Royals for so long. I've no problem us paying for the Royals and living with the fact the only thing he's done to deserve his charmed life is be born into a different family to me. But shirking responsibilities asked of him by his elders and hiding out in Norfolk playing pilot is just not on, and thoroughly irritating. If he doesn't want the responsibilities, he needs to hand back his houses and renounce his position. He's behaving like a spoilt child. Whatever one thinks about Charles at least he's biting at the bit with enthusiasm.

Perhaps Charles should ask Zara instead. She is hard working and understands people .

William has made it clear that he has no intention of pulling his weight - not just in actions, but in his own recent words. The best thing for everyone - him, the monarchy and the British taxpayers - is for him to remove himself from the line of succession. Forcibly, if need be.

this business with william and kate has become a joke...william is a king in training...charles is nearly 70 years old, whose to say he has the longevity gene, he may well drop off the twig anytime....i don't think william should be asked, it's his royal duty.....if he doesn't want to wear the crown that's ok, forego all royal benefits and live the quiet life, let his family know and they can make other arrangements..simple william, you have two choices all you have to do is make one

William is really starting to grate on me, he seems to want all the trappings of royalty when it suits him but also likes playing this role as a regular guy. Sorry William you are not a "regular guy' you have led a life of wealth and privilege and it's time to step up to your responsibilities as 2nd in line to the throne.

If he wants a "normal life" he should get a normal job with a normal salary and pay his way. Normal life doesn't warrant the tax payers money he gets just for being born a future king.

I shudder to think what the future of the monarchy will be if the Queen retires. In my opinion, Will and Kate have no intention of continuing her work. It's a shame

Bill Middleton has been indulged for far too long. If he is genuine in wanting to live a normal life then fine, hand back Anmer Hall, the money, the jewellry, the privileged lifestyle. Buy your own house Bill & compete for your job. Otherwise take the pressure off a soon to be 90 year old. Better still, scrap the monarchy after the Queen's days

If William wants to carry on a normal life perhaps he should only get normal pay and holidays too.

If Wills wants to lead a normal life - well let him, just pass it all over the Harry, he is the people's Prince anyway and I personally think would make a far better King than William ever will. Harry has charisma, rugged, compassion just like his Mother, he would be a people's King, William is a weak person and would be a weak King.

The old bat is making it hard for everybody, give Charles the bloody job,and William is dreamin',you dont get to have all the privileges and have a normal life like us,little twerp.

William is starting seriously annoy the people, including me. He is selfish, entitled and spoiled, barely doing anything to take the burden off his elderly grandparents. He sure does like all the luxury, wealth and privilege that come with his titles though. No wonder his father is so disappointed.

Who says Will doesn't want to be king? He just doesn't want the responsibility that comes with it. His wife is no different, she was his always on-call companion for holidays and trips. The ten years she chased him, they were partying and vacationing when most of their friends moved on and built a career. Now the words "gap year" and "maternity leave" are the most used alibi their publicist use to defend for their lack of work ethics. They cannot claim to be "normal" coz normal people don't have tons of bodyguards, personal secretaries, maids, cooks, nannies, hairdressers, fitness instructors, and etc.
