German hunter pays £39,000 to shoot biggest elephant in 30 YEARS

Less than three months after Cecil the Lion was shot dead, a German hunter has killed a large elephant with 122 pounds tusks in a game park in Zimbabwe.
Photos of the dead elephant and its lengthy tusks emerged on social media, drawing both praise on pro-hunting groups and anger from conservationists.
Johnny Rodrigues Chairman for Zimbabwe Conservation Task Force, confirmed the death of the elephant.
He said 'The most disappointing thing is that when a local Zimbabwean kills an animal for food for his family, he is sentenced to between 5 and 15 years in prison but when a wealthy foreign hunter comes in and shoots an animal, he gets away with it. What message are we giving the people?'

I was put off the "sport" of hunting permanently after seeing some hot shot fire at a little Dik-dik (tiny gazelle like creature). The bullet passed through both of the creature's spindly back legs shattering them. The animal continued trying to run on its shattered limbs,; it was absolutely horrible! Why in G-d's name would ANYONE kill such a majestic animal as this elephant particularly as at the rate they are being poached and slaughtered, there soon won't be any left in the wild?
